4. Pure sodium hydroxide is a white solid available in pellets, flakes, granules.
It is used in many industries, mostly as a strong chemical base in the manufacture of pulp and paper, textiles, drinking water, soaps and detergents and as a drain cleaner.

5. The main purpose of calcium carbide

(1) Calcium carbide can generate acetylene after reaction with water (CaC2+2H-OHCa(OH)2+CH≡ CH)and acetylene is also an important material to many organic compounds. Such as:
Synthetic rubber, synthetic resin, acetone, ketene, carbon black and so on. Oxygen acetylene flame is also widely used in Welding and cutting of metal.

(2)After heating powder calcium carbide and nitrogen together, they become to Calcium cyanamide, that is also called Lime nitrogen. When heating Calcium cyanamide and salt together, they become to Black cyanide, which is widely used in Mining gold and nonferrous metal industry.

(3)Calcium carbide itself can be used as desulfurizer for iron and steel industry.

(4)The gas created from calcium carbide is combustible, so it can be used for lighting.



6. Packing and storage:
Caustic soda using 25kg/50kg three plastic woven bags packed. Stored in a dry and ventilated place, avoid moisture. Mix can not be mixed with acids transported.
